Mission Statement: To promote the preservation of the cultural heritage and historic resources of Louisiana.
History: The Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation is a 501©3 organization (Tax Id #72-0866133) founded in 1979 for cultural and educational purposes pertaining to historic preservation. The Founders understood that an organized state-wide network of preservationists was a critical component to promote the preservation of the heritage and historic resources of Louisiana through education, technical assistance, outreach and advocacy. The Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation is the statewide partner of the National Trust for Historic preservation.
Structure: Governed by an 18 member Board of Directors comprised of an Executive Committee and District Leaders representing the entire state. A full time Executive Director oversees programs and daily office operations while representing the Louisiana Trust on the National Trust for Historic Preservation Statewide and Local Partners Board.
