Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion

Under the stewardship of the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, the Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion has undergone a transformative year of preservation, modernization, and economic revitalization, leveraging historic assets to provide cultural and economic value to the Baton Rouge region and state, and a holistic approach to heritage tourism. The facility received critical structural updates and modernization of core mechanical systems, while prioritizing inclusivity with the construction of an ADA-compliant entrance and maintaining free admission for all visitors. The Old Governor’s Mansion has successfully balanced the delicate task of preserving the legacy of Governor Huey P. Long’s 1930 architectural marvel with the modern needs of a 21st-century cultural hub.
