Preserving Louisiana’s historic places since 1979

Revolving Fund

Our statewide Revolving Fund Program works to save endangered historic properties from demolition. Since 2015, LTHP’s Revolving Fund Program has rescued over a dozen historic buildings from neglect and championed the preservation of our state’s unique architectural heritage.

With generous support from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the 1772 Foundation, and an anonymous donor, in 2015 the Louisiana Trust achieved its long-sought goal of establishing a statewide revolving fund and employing a full-time, experienced, professional fund director. Within its first year, the fund accepted one donated property and secured options on several others. The first sale with protective easements of a fund property, the 1867 Morehouse College Building and associated acreage in Bastrop, was finalized on September 30, 2016.

“We look to save and stabilize our state’s most endangered historic places & make them a part of the community again.”

Brian Davis, LTHP Executive Director
